What our customers say about us

About Us

Veritas showed up with just a day's notice to test our employees. The gentleman, Joel, taking the samples was outstanding! He was not only gentle and reassuring without employees, but he managed all the testing in batches for efficiency and accuracy.

Gillian Spence

Veritas is a great company. They have the best team! From the time you reach out to schedule... Kris makes sure to reply to any questions right away. Scheduling is easy and the testing process was efficient and easy. 100% recommend this company.

Celeste Montesdeoca

Veritas is fantastic - incredibly professional, accomendating and provided exactly the service we needed.

Emily Kohlberg

We had a stress-free Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Veritas Testing. They pulled up as everyone was arriving and tested all 12 family members. With 7 cousins ages 12-26, plus parents and a grandmother we wanted to ensure we had a safe family gathering.

What is Covid-19?

On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV”
There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused by a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans.

What is the BinaxNow Rapid testing for Covid-19?

The rapid COVID test by Abbott is what is known as an “antigen” test.  Designed to detect specific proteins in the body from the virus that causes COVID-19 in respiratory specimens (nasal swabs), the Veritor test can produce results in as little as 15 minutes.
This test specifically has recently been approved for emergency use authorization (EUA) by the FDA.

What are the risks and benefits of the rapid test?

Risks are minimal and include

Potential discomfort or other complications that may occur during nasal swab sample collection.
Possible incorrect test results (see below for more information)

The benefits of the rapid COVID-19 test far outweigh the risks, and include

The results obtained from your test can help your doctor make informed decisions when it comes to the best course of care.
The results can help prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 to members of your family or others in your local community.
You’ll get results in a shorter amount of time; giving you peace of mind and allowing more people to be tested each day.

What happens if my results come back positive?

If you have a positive test result your healthcare provider will work with you to determine how best to care for you based on your test result(s) along with your medical history, and your symptoms.

What happens if my results come back negative?

A negative test result means that proteins from the virus that causes COVID-19 were not found in your sample. It is possible for this test to give a negative result that is incorrect (false negative) in some people with COVID- 19. This means that you could possibly still have COVID- 19 even though the test is negative. If your test result is negative, your healthcare provider will consider the test result together with all other aspects of your medical history (such as symptoms, possible exposures, and geographical location of places you have recently traveled) in deciding how to care for you. It is important that you work with your healthcare provider to help you understand the next steps you should take.

Under what circumstances is Covid-19 Testing not covered by private insurance?

COVID-19 testing is NOT reimbursable by private insurance (outside the state of California) for purposes including, but not limited to, the following:

- Epidemiological purposes
- Surveillance
- Community tracking
- Employment purposes, including staffing decisions
- Determine need for personal protective equipment
- Screening (e.g., travel, sports, school, camp, recreational, social requirement)

For COVID-19 testing services offered in these settings, pricing will be determined according to the type of test offered, volume, and the needs of the customer. Please contact for questions.

The document shows a review of services performed by Veritas Testing, billed to your insurance company. The report shows the amount the insurance company paid to Veritas and the balance not paid. The insurance company may identify balances as “Amount not Covered” “Amount you May Owe” “Not Covered” and/or “Member Responsibility” in the EOB report. As per the CARES Act, you are not responsible for this balance, or any charges related to Covid-19 related services that an insurance company does not cover.

You will not receive a bill from Veritas requesting payment for the balance. Please do NOT pay any balances the EOB may say are owed to Veritas.
